Electronic Design Automation

The aim of the lecture is to provide an overview of the algorithms and procedures for the computer-aided design of integrated circuits and systems (EDA, Electronic Design Automation). The focus is not on the design objects (circuits), but on the design tools (software tools). This lecture is primarily aimed at students with a focus on microelectronics or those studying technical computer science as well as students studying technical computer science and computer science. However, it is also suitable for supplementing other majors.

The lecture will be held in German.

Topics

Students get an overview of system and IC design, design levels, design styles, design tools and design input, tools for the functional and physical design of digital and analog circuits. In addition, each participant has to implement an EDA algorithm in C ++.

1. Design process
2. Design styles and levels for IC design
3. Synthesis and verification tools for designing digital and analog circuits

4. Layout generation and layout checking
5. Introduction to C ++
6. Programming an EDA algorithm
